Office Infrastructure

In today's world of change in the working enviroment, the ability to adapt and adjust is essential. You need to be able to have an office cabling system that can evolve with you.

Put simply Category 5 structured cabling is a standardised network of outlets that are positioned all over an office area; each of these outlets can then be used to plug in a telephone, fax machine, modem, ISDN data device, PC network connection or network printer.

Cost effective

Category 5 is an integrated system which means that it is often more economical to install than separate voice and data solutions. Also as long as you have sufficient outlets, all of your voice and data requirements can be managed without the need to call out an engineer for simple moves and changes. If you need to expand, our thorough project management before installation will ensure that there is room for expansion and addition of new equipment in the future.

Technically Necessary

As we progress into the information age, the demands on internal and external communications bandwidth are rapidly increasing. As well as the traditional voice and fax traffic there is a high demand for data communications such as internet/e-mail access, video conferencing and the sending of video images.

Not only do you need a robust and high capacity PC network and telephone system to facilitate efficient internal communication, you also need access to high-speed digital communication channels (lines) for external communication. Whereas traditional telephone cable is sufficient for simple telephone connections, it is not ideal for most modern digital equipment.

Using the enhanced 1000 Base T cabling you can achieve up to 1000 Mbits per second of data bi-directionally and simultaneously across the network. This will support very high volumes of information being passed around the network speedily and efficiently; more than capable of dealing with the growing demand for bandwidth.

Voice & Data Convergence

Incorporating your telephone and computer requirements on the same cabling system is another step towards the convergence of voice and data, however it does provide sufficient separation to ensure that the reliability of the telephone system is not dependent on the often less stable PC network.

We have developed a good working relationship with a number of IT and internet companies specialising in wide area data networking and so are readily able to provide a recommendation. However, if you already have a supplier of IT networking equipment we consider it part of our job to liase with them on any issues such as the nature of your data communication requirements.

Quality controlled and future proof

All of our installations are carried out in accordance with ISO 11801 standards and along with 100% channel testing on installation, this allows us to provide you with a 25-year guarantee on our entire cabling infrastructure.

Case Studies and Recommendations

We have developed a number of case studies from previous installations, and, particularly where the installation has some relevance, we like to encourage potential customers to contact our existing customers; not only for a reference but also to discuss the concepts and get some ideas about what is possible and how to go about it.
